- 18K Gold Plated Stainless steel is a tarnish resistant material. However, all gold plated metals will eventually tarnish in the long run with use. 18K Gold Plated chain is also darker in color compared to 14K Gold Filled Chain.

★ ★ ★ CHAIN TYPES ★ ★ ★

☞ We use high quality gold-filled chain on virtually all of our necklaces. Gold-filled is usually a lifetime product because the gold layer bonded to the brass core is quite thick. Gold-filled contains 5% gold by weight; all the gold is on the surface which offers product protection from tarnish and wear.

☞ Gold Plated Chain is a less expensive alternative. We use a tarnish resistant stainless steel chain. However, any gold plated chain will tarnish eventually with wear. The timing of it will depend entirely on the skin of the person wearing it, how it is worn and stored. We do also offer a longer lasting 14K Gold Filled chain which is the best alternative to solid gold chain and can last a long time with proper care.

☞ Sterling silver is usually a lifetime product, however, it is normal for it to get darker over time and it can easily be polished with a silver polishing cloth and will become shiny silver again.

★ ★ ★ JEWELRY CARE INSTRUCTIONS ★ ★ ★

☞ It's very important to keep your jewelry dry. Never bathe, shower, swim or spray perfume on the jewelry. Do not use hand and body lotions, make-up, hand sanitizers, cleaning products with your jewelry on. Chemical reactions with chlorine, pool and hot tubs, and other elements such as perspiration can lead to tarnishing.

☞ Additionally, apply makeup, hairspray or any type of lotion before putting on your jewelry, as they may contain harsh chemicals that may damage your jewelry over time.

☞ Do not sleep with your jewelry on and do not leave it sitting out after you take it off. Store your clean, dry jewelry in an air-tight container, such as zip-lock bags, as humidity can damage your jewelry.

☞ Do not cook, clean or exercise with your jewelry on. The chemicals released may harm your jewelry.

☞ For extra care, after each wear gently wipe each piece of jewelry clean of make up and skin oils with a soft cloth.
